Introduction to My Life

What’s up everybody, my name is Ivan Snipes and I’m the first boy in my family to go to college. In high school I was an A/B student four year varsity  football player and wrestler. Now I’m a freshman majoring in marketing and minoring in sports management. I’m from Brooklyn, New York but then some years later I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. My parents are also from Brooklyn, New York where they spent most of their lives. My dad never went to college but certifications in a lot of mechanical working. My mom did not finish college for money issues forcing her to drop out and get a job.

I chose to major in marketing because I just feel its a big talent of mine. Also I can use for my passion. 

I have a big passion in cars with my major I can expose it way more and try to convert large crowds to gain that love that I have for cars. Furthermore I don’t wanna feel like work is work. I want my job to be something love so I won’t feel like work is work and be miserable. I wanna be happy to wake up in the morning and say this what I really wanna do.

One of my favorite things to do on my free time is graffiti and race JDM cars. I started doing graffiti when I was 10 on Coney Island beach in New York with a friend. I didn’t get good until I hit 13 or 14, I remember my people telling me they can see the difference in my work. But before all that my love for JDM cars started with my dad around like seven. My dad owned a lot of them and taught me how to drive them. I raced for the first time at 17, funny thing is I just got my permit on that same exact day.

Porsche Atlanta 

My dream job is to work at Porsche on their marketing team later retiring at Porsche. I always wanted to work with cars since I seen my father doing it. Lucky me when I moved to Atlanta I road passed it one day and I just knew I need to be there. 

My  career goals that I have set for are:

1.     Junior year intern at summit and Atlanta motor speedway

2.     Do a training program for Phoenix marketing team in Atlanta 

3.     Apply for an internship at Porsche Atlanta 

4.     Work for a smaller car company in Georgia for more resume

5.     Finally apply for my dream job

I chose this class because I love history. When I was younger I loved watching the history channel with my grandma. She told about how life was when she was younger, all of her old stories were so amusing, interesting, and sad. In all my years in school social studies and history have my most outstanding grades and scores. I really excited to see what’s in store for this semester in this course.
